THE FINGER
FREAK ACCIDENT... no better description than that. Collin was standing near the captains chair, of course, when his daddy needed to close the glove box. In a split second Aaron realized he smashed Collin's finger. After checking it out we found out that the finger nail was ripped off. With lots of blood and me yelling just push it back down we got his finger bandaged and we were off for more fun on the boat.
Collin is one tough little guy. We offered to go home but he insisted on staying. Even our 16 year old nephew was in awe of how tough Collin was acting. He cried for about 10 seconds then simply held his hand up while we rode around.
This pictures shows his finger...this looks pretty good...considering. HE only has a nail sitting on his finger due to my crazy insistance that it be pushed back down. It only stayed attached for a couple of days because we kept it wrapped. The good new is it is finally starting to grow back...two months later.

More fun on the boat
Like I said the kids ask almost every day if we can take the boat out and proceed to get upset when we can't. So this time we took my parents and nephew out to enjoy the water. Thanks to my dad we found a little sandy beach. The kids absolutely loved it.
By the end of this trip Kennedy had built some confidence after riding with her little brother. She is now requesting waves!!

Farewell Dinner
Have you ever been in the right place at the right time? I have been in the wrong place for a long time. I have been asking God why exactly am I here and what am I suppose to be learning. Well the time finally came to make the change.
I met Jenn a few years ago while she was pregnant with her youngest daughter. We chatted here and there, then crossed paths with some funny stories and crazy situations. This year she has become such a great friend and example of the type of person we should all aspire to be.
After only working with Jenn for one year, she will be moving on to another school. Not only is she leaving our school she is moving back home where her family lives. She has shown me soo much and I am so sad to see her go but this little move was not in her plans.
After days of crying and preparing our little "specials" went to dinner to celebrate friendships and time well spent.
Jenn, it's been a blessing to work with you for a year and I now know why God had me in the wrong place for so long. Good luck and I can't wait to hear all of your new and crazy stories. You will be missed.

The BOAT
So Aaron's boat has been a big hit with the kids this summer. We have been going early in the mornings and late in the evenings to miss the crowds and avoid the heat. One of our first outings was with some friends. We all loaded up and hit the water in the 8 o'clock hour. This was Lily and Lukes first boat ride...they had no fear and lots of fun.
They were all smiles minus the fact it was a little cool.
Collin has decided this is his boat...and you don't argue with the Captain.
First boat ride and first time riding the tube.
Charisa and I spent our time staying dry, warm, and taking pictures.
The kids did great. Lily and Luke showed Kennedy how to ride a tube. The faster and more waves the better.
After a few hours and lots of tubing it was time to head to Burgers and Fries to get some lunch. Many more days like this to come.

Field Day
Our favorite activities start happening when the school year starts to wrap up each year. One of our favorites is field day. There is nothing better than running races, playing games, and simply playing for an entire day.
A little photo before the full day of fun in the sun.
Three girls just having some fun.
Kennedy loves to run. She loves to race and loves to win. Kennedy ran 5 races through the obstacle course and beat a girl 4 times and a boy once. Beating the boy was the highlight of the day. I have to say I am grateful she won because I'm not sure what the rest of the day would have looked like. For those of you that know my child, know she is just a little dramatic but I love her anyways.
Now that the serious stuff was over it was time for some fun. Scooter races, slides, popsicles, and a little hula hooping. I don't have any pictures but the moms all raced on the scooters...that would have been a great sight to see I'm sure
We had tons of fun but due to the heat and the forementioned drama we left right before the last two events. I have to say it was ok because a shower and a nap was in our future.

Mother's Day
I was formally invited to the Ma Spa by Kennedy. She promised to pamper me like a mother should be pampered. It was so sweet watching her get ready for this big day.
There were stations of pampering...nails, massages, snacks, slide shows/massages, and the reflection station.
It was perfect... I got a french manicure, fabulous massage, had a few treats, and got some words of wisdom from my daughter.
During the reflection station we were discussing how we are differnt and alike. The only difference we found was that Kennedy loves to wear high heels and I do not.
Before we left Kennedy pointed out her paper. It was so sweet. I was actually in disbelief... Thank you sweet girl for pampering me.
