Swimming and the Gym

Collin has finally reached the age that he is able to participate in some activities. I am always hesitant to start kids in organized sports until about 1st grade. Luckily for us once Collin joined the intermediate class at school he was eligible to go to gymnastics and ride in the van.
Grandpa has been swimming everyday for at least a year now. He has been urging me to enroll Collin in lessons. After many phone call we joined the program. Collin began lessons in late September/early October. He went through a few instructors and finally found the right fit...Ms. Darla. She is very soft spoken but gets her point across. Collin now has "Grandpa Days" on Tuesdays. These consist of being picked up early from school, going to swim with Grandpa, McDonald's for lunch, then nap and playtime at Grandpa's house. Collin looks forward to it every week.

Collin is working on "Chicken, Airplane, Soldier" with Ms. Darla.

After his official lessons are complete it is always fun to do a little splashing with Grandpa.

In the last few weeks Collin has made remarkable progress. He can do so many things on his own now. Just last Friday he was literally swimming to the VERY BOTTOM of the pool to pick up rings. One of these days I will upload a video as proof.

GYMNASTICS

Collin goes to gymnastics on Wednesday each week. He truly loves it and if ever I win the lottery I may just build a gym in the backyard so he can run out some of his energy on rainy days.

Collin is in the "advanced" group for his school. His teacher was shocked that he is only 3. It's not surprising since he is almost as tall as his 8 year old sister. I was surprised he did as well as he did because most of the time he tumbles and falls. Great job Collin. Can't wait to see more of your trick.
