My precious little guy has had strep throat 6 times in the past 4 months. It might not have been so bad if he wasn't so funny about medicine. Only certain medicines work but no one wants to start out with those in fear of him building an immunity and the strength of the medicines. We are "special" that way at our house. I even had an argument with a nurse after Collin received the "super-duper-ALWAYS kills" strep shot. She proceeded to tell me she has never seen it not work and I kindly reminded her we were "special".... sure enough mommy was right and Collin still had strep.
With that diagnosis, we were off to the ENT to see what needed to happen next. Tonsils it is. That was Tuesday and tonsils were out Friday morning.
I think he knew something bad was about to happen because he kept this look all the way to the doctors office. He also didn't say a word.
Everyone kept commenting on how cute our little guy was with his house shoes and "new" watch he got at Home Depot. Collin and Daddy had fun playing around with the surgical hat.
The surgery only took about 10 minutes but the 2 hour recovery was worse. Collin was M-A-D, as his nurse put it...
Once we took the IV out he did great and day one was not too bad. Day two brought lots of crying, temperatures of 103+ ,and a trip to the ER. We later found out Collin probably has the flu...poor guy, tonsils removed and the flu. He is doing pretty good now. I am hoping strep will leave us alone now that those tonsils are gone.
We are done with all of now, well at least until it is Kennedy's turn.
