Be Careful, You MIGHT Get What You Ask For
You see my little "Dancing Queen" has been staying fairly healthy since the flu, stomach bug, and strep throat have been running rampant at school. No matter how much we try to encourage hand washing it is hard to avoid. With Collin's tonsil surgery scheduled, I kept asking God to let us just make it past the surgery without any more illness. Surgery came and went, two birthday parties came and went, and we were good.
Well, I thought too soon. Kennedy spent the night with a friend Thursday before the surgery, stayed with Nana and Papa Friday night and Saturday night, and I took her to two parties on Saturday. When I called to check on Kennedy Sunday morning Nana said she didn't want to stay outside with the animals...she wanted to lay down and watch TV. I loaded up and headed out to pick her up. When I got there I took her temperature --102.
BAD, BAD, BAD!!!
I took Kennedy to the doctor against her will. She just wanted to go home and nap. Two doctors offices later, 3 1/2 hours later, two swabs, and a screaming child later....we OFFICIALLY have the FLU!!!
I got EXACTLY what I prayed for. I have to learn to keep my mouth shut and let God lead...
Kennedy only really had one rough day...thank goodness. Later in the week though I was diagnosed with the flu and Kennedy developed PINK EYE! When it rains, it pours at our house. I am staying positive though (I have already cried and had a few meltdowns) and thinking since we have had sooo much happen this week we should be good for a few months...at least... PLEASE?!?!
I have definitely learned to be more careful of what I ask for because when I get it, it's not always as great as I once thought it might be.
